Restaurant birthday promotions: get the party booked at your place

The birthday guest rarely comes alone. A good birthday offer doesn’t give away a dinner: it brings you a table of six.

Restaurant birthday promotions work for a simple reason: nobody celebrates alone. If the birthday guest picks your place, four, six or eight people come along, pay for their own meals, and several have never been in before.

What to give in a birthday offer

A gesture beats a discount on the whole table. Example: a group of 6 spending ARS 20,000 each, ARS 120,000 in total. A dessert with a candle and a toast cost you about ARS 3,000; 20% off the bill costs 24,000.

An offer that costs you

  • 20% off for the whole table
  • Valid only on the exact day
  • Guests find out when paying

An offer that fills tables

  • Free dessert with a candle or a toast
  • Valid the whole birthday week
  • Sent 7–10 days ahead, so they book

Ask for the date when a guest joins your program and explain why (how to store it properly). If someone hasn’t come by in months, their birthday is the perfect excuse to win them back.

Prevent abuse without being suspicious

  • One gift per person per year, tied to the registered date.
  • Collect the date in advance, not on the day they ask for the gift.
  • Set a minimum party size only for bigger gifts, like a bottle of wine for tables of 4 or more.
What should a restaurant give guests on their birthday?

Something visible and shareable: a dessert with a candle, a toast, a starter for the table. It works better than a percentage off the whole bill.

How far in advance should I send a birthday offer?

7 to 10 days: enough time to organize the celebration and book a table.
